Snap – Shares soared more than 27% in afterhours trading after the social media firm reported first-quarter results that beat analysts' estimates. Intel reported earnings that beat Wall Street expectations, however. Dexcom reported adjusted earnings of 32 cents per share on revenue of $921 million in revenue. Those results surpassed the earnings of $1.10 per share and $2.2 billion in revenue anticipated by analysts polled by LSEG.

Companies like OpenAI are under growing scrutiny over their use of copyrighted material. Prompts about Harry Potter books have showed how common the use of copyrighted work is in LLMs. ChatGPT is trying to hide that it was trained on copyrighted material, according to new research. As do many other AI models, given they've been trained on huge swaths of copyrighted material. The researchers suggested that users who prompt these models to show copyrighted work are "misusing" the technology.

Reuters is revealing details of the Diego Garcia project and SubCom’s deepening ties with the Pentagon. SubCom’s loyalty is especially important because it is the only major U.S. subsea cable company. Rather, they carefully obscured the U.S. military component within a larger private-sector cable project, according to four subsea cable industry sources with knowledge of the arrangement. That project, known as the Oman Australia Cable, was spearheaded by SUBCO, a Brisbane-based subsea cable investment company owned by Australian entrepreneur Bevan Slattery. Once the Navy project was complete, AT&T’s submarine cable project morphed into a commercial business, the former employees said.

Shares of Alphawave Semi , a U.K.-based technology company that designs custom chips and semiconductors, are expected to rise by more than 50% over the next 12 months, according to Barclays. The investment bank's equity research team initiated coverage of Alphawave Semi with an "overweight" rating on Feb. 20 and expect the share price to rise to £1.60 ($1.92) per share. Alphawave Semi, formerly known as Alphawave IP, designs microchips for routers, fiber optic cables and other networking devices. One acquisition was OpenFive, which gave Alphawave the ability to create custom silicon products using intellectual property it already owns. The other was Banias Labs, which expanded Alphawave's patents and intellectual property.
